Attractions of Zakopane

Arrival

Departure

Zakopane is is not only an ideal placefor those who want to conquer mountain trails. The city attracts people like a magnet and offers many attractions to tourists at any time of the year. It is impossible to present all the attractions of Zakopane, but below we present to you some of them, which in our opinion are the must-see points during your stay at our Szymaszkowa 7 Apartments..

It's widely known that Zakopane is an perfect destination for hiking in the Tatra Mountains, which are the highest mountain range in the Western Carpathians on the border between Poland and Slovakia. The Tatras are beautiful and magnificent at any time of the year, delighting everyone - whether an amateur or already more experienced in mountain hiking. In the Zakopane area, the Tatras can be experienced in a variety of ways - from hiking in the lower parts of the mountains, to climbing the mountain peaks and admiring the mountain range from observation towers.

One of the obligatory points of most trips to the Tatra Mountains is to climb the most popular of Polish peaks, Kasprowy Wierch, located on the Polish-Slovakian border, which stands at 1959 meters above sea level. Those experienced in mountain expeditions conquer the peak on foot, but less advanced hikers can also get to the top using the railroad. However, it is worth taking into note that during the season especially in summer the queues to the ticket office are really big, so it is worth buying a ticket online or going to the top on foot. And once you reach the top, in addition to admiring the magnificent views, it is worth visiting the Meteorological Observatory, the highest in Poland, and the PTKK Shelter.

Another attraction is Chocholowska Valley and Koscieliska Valley, or generally speaking, the Tatra National Park. From our complex Szymaszkowa 7 to the Koscieliska Valley you have only 6 minutes by car, and the valley itself is one of the most beautifully situated valleys in the Western Tatras with a length of 8km. In turn, Chocholowska Valley stretching for about 10km will delight everyone with its view, and its image will remain in memory for a long time after returning home. Walking through the valleys is an excellent relaxation in nature for both mind and body.

Another attraction in the Tatras. which attracts thousands of tourists is Morskie Oko. This extremely picturesque place is located at an altitude of about 1,395 meters above sea level and is the largest and most beautiful lake in the Tatra Mountains. A trip to Morskie Oko is an excellent attraction for both seniors and younger amateurs of mountain tours, and even families with children. Those thirsty for further hiking can head to the Black Pond, and further to Rysy, Poland's highest peak at 2499 meters above sea level.

Other mountain attractions include Giewont as the highest peak in the Western Tatras, which attracts tourists through the cross set on its top, as well as the Valley of Five Ponds.

The panorama of Zakopane and the Tatra Mountains is another point of interest when planning a trip in Zakopane. From our apartments you will reach Gubalowka in 10 minutes on foot, and the view you will see will be the one unforgettable and worth remembering as a souvenir of the Tatra Mountains.

Escaping a bit from the mountain excursions, our guests are recommended to take a stroll through Krupowki, which can be reached from our Szymaszkowa 7 complex in less than a quarter of an hour walk. Krupówki Street is one of the most famous promenades in Poland, where you can find atmospheric regional restaurants or stores with souvenirs from the Tatra Mountains. While on Krupówki, it is worth seeing the wooden bridge over Foluszowy Potok and the Church of the Holy Family. This monument, whose construction was completed in 1899, is a combination of several architectural styles including Neo-Romanesque or Zakopane style.

Moving on, it's worth visiting the Wielka Krokiew, Poland's most famous ski jump, where Adam Malysz and Kamil Stoch, among others, won their medals. But the Wielka Krokiew is an attraction in itself also because it is the only place in Europe and the second in the world where anyone can try their hand at skiing down the hill.

Next on the list of Zakopane attractions is the Tatra Museum, where you can learn about the history of the highlanders and Podhale, as well as the biographical Karol Szymanowski Museum in the "Atma" villa.

The number of attractions in Zakopane is huge, which is why we recommend stays not only for weekends, but also longer, so that you can enjoy the charms of the Tatra Mountains, the tranquility and the surrounding nature, and still have a chance to visit the Museum of Oscypek in Zakopane, Villa Witkacy, or the Museum of Zakopane Style, among many others.

Apartments are located in the immediate vicinity of the Szymoszkowa winter complex. The location of the apartments guarantees not only a great view of the Tatra Mountains, but also quick access to the ski slope in the heart of the mountains.
This complex in the winter on the slope, or in the summer in the queue provides a view of Giewont.
